Aruba Presents Core Switch

Aruba Networks presents clear take on the Cisco Catalyst network switch line-- the Aruba 8400 Core Switch series, running on what what the company claims is the most advanced operating system, ArubaOS-CX.

Aruba 8400Promising to take a leap from "antiquated switching platforms," the 8400 is designed for mobility, cloud and IoT applications. It offers "carrier-class" performance, with immediate availability, better insights into troubleshooting and easier automation through a fully extensible fabric design. The Virtual Switching Framework (VSF) with two chassis scales up to 512 10GbE, 128 40Gbe or 96 100 Gigabit Ethernet ports.

Powering the 8400 is ArubaOS-CX-- a new operating system able to automate and simplify many critical and complex network tasks. It offers automated visibility via Aruba Network Analytics Engine (NAE), faster resultion with Network Insights, and a built-in Python interpreter and REST-based APIs for full programmability and easy integration with infrastructure and applications.

"By gaining early visibility and insights into network connectivity and traffic patterns, and using network analytics and policy to predict and resolve problems before they result in significant network downtime, organisations can save valuable time and resources while greatly reducing costs," the company says.

Also announced by Aruba is the 2930M-- a switch series designed for WLAN and IoT integration with unified security, PoE+ power, on-premises Aruba AirWave or cloud-based Aruba Central management and improved performance for campus, branch and SMB networks.

The Aruba 8400 and 2930M switches are available now.
