Taiwanese infrastructure specialist Quanta Cloud Technology (QCT) announces plans to open a first European location, specifically a regional HQ in Düsseldorf, Germany.

DusseldorfThe HQ will officially open on 20 September in an event complete with QCT technology demonstration and a celebratory dinner for partners and customers. Desgined as the company's European HQ, the Düsseldorf building is the first QCT direct presence outside Asia and the US.

"We move with our new office not geographically closer to our European customers and partners," QCT president Mike Yang says. "The opening is also part of QCT's strategy to establish a Cloud Solution Centre in the near future to work better and more closely with cloud service providers, enterprises and SMEs. We invite customers and partners to take this first step together with us."

Founded in 2012 as a subsidiary of ODM giant Quanta Computer, QCT manufactures server, storage, switching and cloud products. It is one of the Asian players currently making a killing from the boom in hyperscale computing, thanks to the growth in social networks and public cloud demand, with clients including the likes of Facebook, Microsoft and Intel.

The company offers a range of cloud solutions for the European market with a focus on software-defined datacentre technology. It currently has Tech Data as a distribution partner, and encourages reseller partners to look further into what it describes as a growing market.
