Nexsan Intros Unity Unified Storage

E-mail Print PDF

Unified storage solutions specialist Nexsan presents Unity-- a next-generation storage platform combining the performance and scalability of DRAM and flash with private cloud synchronisation and data mobility support.

Nexsan UnityAs the company puts it, many solution bring together storage, data management, file sync and share, and security, but none do so within a single unified solution. As such Unity promises high performance and multi-sote collaboration at "LAN speed," with n-Way Sync functionality handling enterprise sync across distributed primary storage while securing content through encryption, self-encrypting drives and encryption keys.

The technology runs on devices ranging from smartphones and tablets to laptops and desktop PCs. Secure connections are managed within the enterprise (eliminating the need for VPNs), providing flexible file access and sharing across all mobile devices.

Unity scales from 13TB up to 5TB, with support for fibre channel, iSCSI, NAS and SAN connections and as well as unified HDDs and SSDs.

“Today’s NAS and SAN storage solutions have ignored the need for secure access to protected data maintained within the enterprise,” the company says. “With Nexsan Unity we’re providing a means to extend primary storage across and outside the enterprise in a secure manner. We’ve combined the power and performance of our Nexsan unified storage platform with the cloud flexibility of our Transporter private cloud file sync and share appliances. The result is a unified storage solution like no other-- providing simplified file sharing, secure data access and comprehensive data storage for the datacentre.”

Unity is available now, with mobile access to follow on Q3 2015.
