Movi Makes Multi-Camera Setup for Live Events

Movi

Livestream announces a new product and a new brand: the Movi. This camera not only lets you edit-on-the fly, but it also can create an impression of images from multiple cameras (instead of the single camera).

Movi live editing (on the fly between as many as 9 virtual HD cameras) includes the ability to pan, zoom, and cut between multiple live shots—or, in other words, the same video storytelling capabilities used in professional TV productions.

It records footage at 4K resolution (3840 x 2160 pixels) and includes a built-in microphone. Built-in people detection and movement tracking features even allow Movi to make camera movement and editing decisions automatically.

Movi is only 2.5” tall and weighs 4.6 ounces: it’s so small it can be mounted on a microphone stand. That means you can set it up much closer to the action (right on stage) than you would with a regular camera.

It also includes 16GB microSD card to record/store video, plus built-in features that make it easy to share your video immediately on websites, social networks or via email. (It is from Livestream, after all…)

Three important points: Only iPhones will be supported by this camera initially. The Movi battery is only estimated to last for an hour (but you can plug it in or buy the Movi Boost, for 10 hours of battery life.)

And Livestream plans to ship the product in April with a $399 price tag. It’s currently available for a $199 pre-order.
