Interoute Buys Easynet

Connectivity, computing and communication services vendor Interoute announces the acquisition of European managed services provider Easynet in a deal worth €554 million.

BuyoutsAccording to company statement the buy will provide enterprise, government and service provider customers with access to a combined products and services suite, as well as an "enhanced and expanded" capability and skills set.

Interoute offers unified connectivity, computing and communications products and services to multinational and national enterprises, including UEFA, the European Space Agency, SCA and Saxo Bank.

Meanwhile Easynet claims an "impressive" client base spanning global enterprises, public sector entities and national clients. It used to belong to Sky before being sold to LDC in 2010. It was later acquired by MDNX in 2013.

"These are exciting times for Interoute and our customers as we create a leading, independent European ICT provider," Interoute CEO Gareth Williams says. "It's the next step in our acquisition strategy and moves us much closer to our goal of being the provider of choice to Europe’s digital economy."
