HP Goes Hybrid with CloudSystem

HP launches the next generation CloudSystem, now with a "consumer-inspired" UI, simplified management tools and an improved deployment process to provide the foundation for a hybrid cloud solution.

HP CLoudsystemIntegrating OpenStack-based Cloud OS technology, CloudSystem takes advantage of multiple public clouds, including the newly added Windows Azure and platforms from European cloud provider Arsys and French telco SFR.

A further cloud-related HP announcement is the Hybrid Cloud Management Platform-- one integrating Cloud Service Automation (CSA) 4.0 with native CloudOS and TOSCA (Topology and Orchestration Specification for Cloud Applications) support for easier application portability and hybrid/heterogeneous IT environment management.

HP also expands the Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) portfolio with solutions ranging from standardised self service to customised, fully managed service, with the latest Managed VPC providing virtual or physical configurations, multiple storage tiers, hypervisors and network connectivity types.

“The reality today is that CIOs want and need the benefits of cloud computing, but they are dealing with the complexities of a hybrid IT environment,” HP says. “HP Cloud solutions provide enterprises with a holistic and simplified approach for deploying, securing and managing workloads across hybrid delivery models, ensuring a successful cloud journey.”
