VITEC demonstrates their TurboVideo2 technology for ultra low-latency delivery of HD H.264 IP video at NAB 2013.

Vitec TurboVideo2VITEC showed a live demo of MGW Sprint Encoder and MGW Sprint Decoder, a set of portable appliances [see photo] with HDMI, DVI and HD-SDI inputs and outputs that, together, deliver FULL HD video point to point at a delay of less than one video frame. The set of appliances can operate in both 4:2:0 and 4:2:2 modes.

"Low latency IPTV encoders have been in use for years for various applications

such as Military Situational Awareness, Enterprise Collaboration Tools and sharing content with remote viewers. The ability to broadcast video over IP with less than 10 miliseconds end-to-end delay now allows customers to use video streaming in applications that require true real-time experience and instantaneous response." says Eli Garten, VP of Product Management for VITEC.

"MGW Sprint powered by our new TurboVideo2 video processor is ideal for these extreme use-cases such as flying aircrafts and targeting, zero delay sharing desktop screens, HD video conferencing and even remote surgery."
