E-mail Print PDF

EMC launches a PCIe-based NAND flash server cards lineup-- the XtremSF family, with technology from May 2012 acquisition XtremeIO, who now acts as in-house NAND flash server maker.

XtremIOAvailable in a variety of eMLC (550GB and 2.2TB) and SLC (350GB and 700GB) capacities, XtremSF products are deployable as either direct attached storage (DAS) sitting within a server or in combination with XtremSW Cache (formerly known as VFCache) server caching software to boost network storage array performance.

All XtremSF PCIe cards are standard half-weight, half-length 25w size and use only 50% of the power HDDs use according to the company.

Also available to select customers is the EMC XtremIO all-flash storage array-- with scale-out architecture delivering higher levels of functional IOPS (up to 150K functional 4K mixed read/write IOPS and 250K functional 4K read IOPS per "X-Brick") to applications such as OLTP databases, server virtualisation and VDI
