LaCie announces a network-attached storage (NAS) solution ideal for SMB customers-- the 5big NAS Pro, an Intel-powered 5-bay storage system.
Featuring a dual-core 2.13GHz Intel 64-bit Atom processor and 4GB RAM, the 5big reaches transfer speeds of up to 200MB/s with dual LAN and link aggregation for optimised network speeds.
It also comes with integrated cloud storage-- Wuala, with NAS OS 3 allowing access to network-attached and cloud storage from a single interface complete with simple user management.
RAID modes (5, 5+spare, 1*** or 0) are simple to manage with SimplyRAID software, while a browser-based LaCie Rescue utility allows the installation of OS on a diskless chassis and easy recovery from system failure via included USB key.
The LaCie 5big NAS Pro is available from Q1 2013 in 0, 10 and 20TB capacities.
