New analysis from Frost & Sullivan, Analysis of the Global Web Conferencing Market, finds that the market, which includes software as a service (SaaS) and on-premises solutions, grew at a healthy growth rate of 10.5% in 2013 reaching $2 billion in revenue. Web conferencing software and service revenue are forecasted to hit $3.05 billion by 2018 at a compound annual growth rate of 8.8%. SaaS, which contributed 83% of total web conferencing revenue in 2013, remains the dominant model.

How do you get an immersive telepresence from a standard videoconferencing system-- without upgrading to the more expensive (circa 250,000 euro) telepresence systems?

Array Telepresence, a start-up telepresence solution provider, debuts a new system that it says enables immersive telepresence using an organization's existing videoconferencing system in typical conference room.

Array says its approach works with existing videoconferencing systems and conference room furniture, has a concealed camera, stand up capture (without cutting heads off), uses less bandwidth, requires less physical space, better vertical gaze angle (perfect vertical eye-line), better horizontal gaze angle, more primary participants (8, 10, 12, or 14 depending on size of the table vs 6 in most telepresence group systems) and has a better format for local conversations where the local participants are easily visible to each other without having to lean around each other to talk.

Barco Collaborates With Vidyo

Barco announces a collaboration agreement with video conferencing vendor Vidyo, one allowing the integration of Vidyo technology into the TransForm C enterprise collaboration solution.

As seen at ISE 2015 the Barco collaboration system uses the Vidyo standard portfolio to convert native VTC streams into low-latency, HD-quality multipoint video conferencing images. Users can configure and display multiple, dynamic VTC windows on large display walls, integrate meeting room collaborations via the ClickShare one-touch screen-sharing solution and control source placement and size via TransForm C display management software.

The TransForm C UI runs on OverView OSV series video walls for high-end collaborations paces, as well as the OBLX system featuring the OverView KVD or OVD near-seamless LCD panels.
