Qumu

The European SharePoint User Survey by Qumu, shows employee training to be a key aspect of SharePoint use and an increase in video capability within the platform to be a top priority for business users.

The survey, aimed at revealing the expectations and current trends amongst Microsoft SharePoint users, found improving training resources and providing live video meetings and training sessions, in addition to offering easy video upload and sharing, were key goals for 2013.

601 panelists in France, Germany and the UK were interviewed and 54% of the respondents were male, 46% female. The majority of the users were aged 25-44 (68%).

SharePoint is used extensively for employee training, with only 10% of survey respondents saying it was not used for this purpose. 88% of users saw improving business training resources and delivering training via live video within SharePoint as a strategic development opportunity.

Making the SharePoint user experience more engaging and dynamic would improve corporate culture, according to 53% of respondents. Supporting mobile users (35%) through SharePoint was seen as having the same effect. The increase in the use of video content was recognized by users, with 45% suggesting the offering of easy video upload and sharing was a top priority.

The Qumu SharePoint technology integration module (TIM) enables users to create, manage, distribute and share video programs directly from the Microsoft SharePoint Portal interface.

Qumu, a business video platform provider, has been recognized by Forrester Research, Inc., as a “Leader in the Video Platforms for the Enterprise” in Forrester Wave’s Q1 2013 report.
