Logitech announces its latest enterprise videoconferencing hardware offering-- the Logitech Webcam C930e with a "first ever" 90-degree field of view, the widest in a business-standard webcam yet.
Carl Zeiss-certified lenses help cut out fish-eye distortion, while a digital pan-tilt-zoon feature allows point of view transitions at up to 4x magnification during HD video calls. Other features include autofocus, external privacy shutter and RedLight 2 technology handling low-light images at multiple distances.
Video codec support includes H.264 SVC and UVC 1.5 (with 1080p video at 30fps), ensuring intelligent video quality processing and scaling according to bandwidth availability and fluctuations.
The C930e is optimised for Microsoft Lync and compatible with Cisco, Skype and most other UC and videoconferencing applications. It words on Windows 7, Windows 8 and Mac OS X 10.7 or higher and should be available from May 2013.
