Extron Electronics ships the ShareLink 200 Wireless Collaboration Gateway, a means for users to present content from personal devices, including Windows and OS X PCs, iDevices and Androids.
It uses ShareLink technology to simultaneously display presentations, images, documents and other content from 4 different personal devices, eliminating the need to change sources during sessions. Content from a single device shows full screen, while content from multiple devices appears simultaneously in 4 windows on the display.
A collaboration mode allows any user to share content and control the presentation, while a moderator mode ensures only the display of approved content. Video outputs come in HDMI and VGA flavours.
Extron says the device has many installation-friendly features, including an integrated wireless access point, PoE and antennas mounted on the front panel. It operates either as a standalone wireless collaboration device or as the wireless presentation component of a wired AV system.
"The trend toward BYOD use in collaborative and presentation spaces has fundamentally changed how we design and build AV systems for meeting rooms, classrooms, and boardrooms," the company adds. "ShareLink 200 is designed to offer our customers a reliable wireless solution that supports a wide range of devices and platforms, enabling flexible content sharing from smartphones, tablets, laptops, and desktops in virtually any environment."
