Logitech expresses disappointment at the enterprise video conferencing industry as its takes a $211 million goodwill impairment charge from its video conferencing unit.
As a result financial Q3 2013 Logitech operating losses total $180m, while net loss reaches $195m (down from a net incom of $55m for Q3 2012).
"The enterprise video conferencing industry has experienced a slowdown in recent quarters and consequently, through this period, the video conferencing reporting unit has not sustained the growth Logitech originally anticipated," a company statement says.
Logitech's video conferencing operations include Sightspeed, LifeSize, Paradial and Mirial. The company blames the downturn on the industry in general-- and Polycom and Cisco both report similar video conferencing results.
