”Mezzanine” Experience Centre Opens in London

Oblong Industries opens an experience centre in London this month to showcase Mezzanine — the company’s spatially-aware technology used by firms like IBM, Boeing, and Beats Music to conduct more efficient, productive, and compelling meetings.

Oblong was founded by Dr. John Underkoffler, ex-MIT Media Lab who famously brought his vision of the future of human-computer interaction to life on screen for Minority Report as well as Iron Man.

The London centre hopes to show that sci-fi technology is now a reality for businesses. Mezzanine brings people together to solve problems, blending physical and digital environments to create a shared workspace across distributed locations. With roots in more than two decades of research at the MIT Media Lab, Mezzanine is a new collaborative conference room solution that defines the next era of computing as multi-user, multi-screen, multi-device, multi-location.
