Cortado Adds HTML5 to Corporate Server

E-mail Print PDF

Cloud desktop service provider Cortado launches what it calls a "real cloud desktop for the post-PC era"-- the HTML5 version of the Cortado Corporate Server product line.

CortadoThe update leverages on the current BYO (Bring-Your-Own) trend, where employees take their "post-PC" devices (as in iPads, Androids and BlackBerries) to work. Through HTML5 support, corporate Server now allows cloud desktop service access across not only PCs and Macs, but also web-enabled devices.

Cortado avoids the "secure container" approach by providing administrators with centralised device management controls through cloud desktop.

The company says the HTML5 version "offers faster processes, less demand on data center resources ... and delivers a centralized, private cloud IT infrastructure with print services, databases, file and fax server access."

Security comes in 3 levels-- the maximisation of local encryption options on devices, HTML5 using an SSL encrypted tunnel from browser to corporate server, and the implementation of password requirements by IT departments.
